Photos of Luberon Towns and Villages

During our Luberon Experience week we spend time in several neighboring towns and villages, all within 30 minutes of our base in Bonnieux. They are interesting, scenic and unique!

  • L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue: Known for its bridges and waterwheels, extensive Sunday morning market, and antique shops.
  • Lacoste: A perfect medieval village; topped by a ruined castle that was once the home of the Marquis de Sade.
  • Gordes: A spectacular village perched in splendor on the flanks of the Vaucluse Plateau.
  • Apt: A busy market town that's the commercial center for this area.
  • Saignon: One of the oldest villages in France; situated on a rocky outcropping overlooking Apt.
  • Roussillon: The most distinctive village in the Luberon due to its red cliffs, ochre quarries, and colorful buildings.
