Bonnieux: Our Luberon Experience week is based in the village of Bonnieux, one of the most beautiful and welcoming villages in Provence. The history and architecture of this hilltop village date back to the Middle Ages. |
Luberon Towns and Villages: During our Luberon Experience week we visit several neighboring towns and villages: L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Lacoste, Gordes, Apt, Saignon and Roussillon. We think these villages are the most interesting, scenic and unique in the Luberon. |
More Luberon Villages: But there are so many special villages in the Luberon! Although they may not be included in our week, we especially enjoy Goult, Lourmarin, Oppède le Vieux and St. Saturnin-lès-Apt. We’re also intrigued by the tiny and remote villages of Buoux and Sivergues. |
The Luberon Countryside: The countryside in the Luberon is spectacular and varied during every season of the year. We love the farmland, orchards and vineyards, but we're especially captivated by the rugged and rocky mountains. The entire area is rich with history dating back thousands of years. |
Luberon Markets: The colorful and lively outdoor markets are an important part of life in Provence. We visit three very different markets during our Luberon Experience week: L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Gordes and Bonnieux. And although our schedule doesn't include the Saturday morning market at Apt, it's definitely one of our favorites. |
Experiences in the Luberon: The Luberon Experience is a week-long immersion in the culture and natural beauty of the Luberon. We explore villages, countryside and markets. We also enjoy relaxing times with new friends and experiencing the food and wine of this very special area. |
"A Good Year" in the Luberon: The movie "A Good Year" directed by Ridley Scott and starring Russell Crowe was filmed mostly on location in the Luberon. Most critics agreed that the real star of the show was the beautiful countryside of Provence. |
