Hiking in the Luberon Guidebook

One of the best ways to experience the Luberon: on foot!

The Luberon offers hundreds of miles of marked hiking trails in the mountains and countryside, designed for all levels of hikers. We have hiked extensively throughout the Luberon-and we love it! Hiking is an excellent way to fully experience the magic and mystery of the Luberon.

Although there are some very good English-language guidebooks on hiking in the broader region of Provence, all the guidebooks focused on hiking in the Luberon are in French.

We are working on an English-language guidebook of Luberon hikes. This book will eventually include about 20 easy-to-follow hikes in the Luberon, ranging from one hour to four hours-ideal for travelers who are visiting for a week or two. For each hike, we will include a map, detailed instructions, and local information.

Please e-mail us if you're would like to be notified when this guidebook is available. Publication is expected by June 2007.

In the meantime, we do have some detailed notes on Hiking in the Luberon on the Slow Travel website, including descriptions and photos of four different hikes.
