Dates, Prices and Logistics

Our weeks are planned for May and September, ideal times to visit Provence. The weather is normally sunny and pleasant, but not too hot. This timing also enables us to avoid the heavy tourist crowds of mid-summer.

Women's Week (May 16 – 23, 2009)

Women travelers are definitely welcome on any of our trips, but this special week will be only women - women traveling solo, women with a friend or family member, or women in small groups. Enjoy a week with a group of compatible travelers!

2009 Prices

Room occupied by one: $3,300 (double room)
Room shared by two: $2,800 per person
Room shared by three: $2,500 per person
This price includes:

  • 7 nights accommodation (3*) with en-suite bath
  • 7 breakfasts, 4 lunches, 6 dinners (including wine)
  • Daytrips, admissions, special activities, and many extras
  • Personalized support from Kathy and Charley
  • Transportation to/from the Avignon TGV station or Marseille Airport at designated times
  • Local transportation during the week

Travelers are responsible for air transportation, ground transportation to and from designated pick-up points (Avignon TGV station or Marseille Airport); and other meals. There is an additional charge for optional daytrips on the free day.

Note: Our 2009 prices may be adjusted in the future due to currency fluctuations; however, the price of your trip is guaranteed at the time of your reservation.

Deposits and Payments

The initial deposit is $500 per person, payable within seven days of your reservation. The balance is due 60 days prior to the first day of the trip. Payments are made by personal check, paid in US dollars.

Cancellation Fees

  • 91+ days (from the first day of the trip) $50 per person
  • 60-90 days 25% of the total price
  • 31-60 days 50% of the total price
  • 0-30 days 100% of the total price

Cancellation fees apply regardless of the reason for a cancellation. We strongly recommend travel insurance that includes trip cancellation coverage to protect against financial loss due to certain cancellations and other trip interruptions. One of our recommended travel consultants can assist you in securing appropriate travel insurance or you can identify and purchase travel insurance online at www.insuremytrip.com.

Travel Logistics

We meet our travelers at 2:30pm on Saturday at the Avignon TGV station or the Marseille airport. Our travelers normally fly into Paris and take the high-speed TGV train to Avignon or fly to Marseille from Paris or another European gateway.

We strongly recommend arriving at least one day before our week begins. Some travelers begin their trip to Provence with several days in Paris. You may also want to overnight in Avignon or near the Marseille Airport on Friday (perhaps in the beautiful city of Aix-en-Provence). This will help you acclimate to the time change and enable you to best enjoy The Luberon Experience.

Recommended Travel Consultants

An experienced travel consultant can be very important in helping you plan your trip to Europe and France beyond your week with The Luberon Experience. We have two different resources we recommend:

Leslie Erickson, CTA, (www.leslieerickson.com) is a consultant based in the Atlanta area who has worked with many of our travelers. Leslie is an experienced European traveler and is very familiar with the requirements for The Luberon Experience. She can assist you with airline and/or train reservations, as well as travel insurance. If you plan a side trip to Paris or another European destination, she can also work with you on hotel recommendations and other arrangements. We also have a partnership with Sandy McDowell of France Journeys (www.francejourneys.com), a company specializing in travel to France. (Like us, Sandy is passionate about France!) France Journeys offers specialized travel support as well as a variety of customized travel packages in Paris and the Bordeaux and Burgundy wine regions.
